Serenity, Courage and Wisdom

Recently, I have been wishing for more time. It is not uncommon to wish for more time.  I know I am not the only one (and this is not just pertinent to parents). I wish there was more time in the day to accomplish all the things on my to do list, more time for sleep, more time for relaxing, more time to play with my children (without worrying about all those things on the to do list).

I wrote about living in the moment not too long ago, so obviously it is something I am struggling with right now.  So, it was fortuitous that I recently across some notes from a conversation I had with Heather Sobieralski, Life Coach, about living in the moment. Heather said that she teaches many of her clients to let go of things that they cannot control and to live as things are and not as they wish them to be.

So, if I can let go of wishing for more time – something out of my control - and accept the time that I do have, I will better be able to live in the moment.

So, today I am making a decision. I am going to stop pining for the loss of time and start enjoying the time I do have. Instead of thinking about what lies ahead I will focus on what lies in front of me. I will stop complaining about the time I don’t have and use the time I do have.

And, if I am struggling to do this, I will remind myself to accept the things I cannot change and change the things I can.

A special thanks to Heather for inspiring this blog post. If you are a mom struggling to get her mojo back after having children, Heather can help. Check out her website at www.mymamamojo.com
